The NPA recognizes individuals that have gone above and beyond for the profession of pharmacy in Nebraska. Awards will be presented to chosen individuals at the Annual Membership Meeting on October 5, 2023. For questions or more information, contact Marcia Mueting at marcia.mueting@npharm.org.

Bowl of Hygeia
Sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation and the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA), the award is presented annually by participating state pharmacy associations, including those in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In addition to service through their local, state, and national pharmacy associations, award recipients devote their time, talent, and resources to a wide variety of causes and community service.

Award Criteria
  • compiled an outstanding record of community service through community service or support
  • devoted their time, talent, and resources to a wide variety of causes and community service 
  • credible role model, both professionally and personally, to their community, other pharmacy professionals, residents, and pharmacy students
  • exceeds expectations of their practice or profession
  • current member of the NPA
  • licensed pharmacist in Nebraska
  • not currently serving, nor has served within the immediate past two years as an officer of the NPA in other than an ex-officio capacity

Excellence in Innovation Award
Sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation and the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA), this award honors a pharmacist who has demonstrated innovative pharmacy practice(s).

Award Criteria
  • demonstrated innovative pharmacy practices that emphasize the importance of pharmacy and pharmacists resulting in improved patient care, such as enhanced access or new ways to address patient needs.
  • current member of the NPA
  • licensed pharmacist in Nebraska

Distinguished Young Pharmacist
Sponsored by Pharmacists  Mutual Companies, this award honors a pharmacist who has participated in the Association and displays leadership in professional programs and community service.

Award Criteria
  • received a degree in pharmacy less than ten years ago
  • compiled an outstanding record of participation in state and national pharmacy associations, professional programs, and/or community service
  • credible role model, both professionally and personally, to their community, other pharmacy professionals
  • current member of the NPA
  • licensed pharmacist in Nebraska
